Curriculum Development

Adult learners require training content that is relevant, engaging, and practical. I use industry best practices to develop curriculum that is legally defensible, evidence-based, and focused on providing practical application opportunities in varied contexts.

  • I worked with FORCE Concepts to design and build 800 hours of curriculum for the Commonwealth of Virginia’s entry level law enforcement training curriculum.

  • I developed and piloted Ethical Decision Making Under Stress (EDMUS), a Colorado POST initiative aimed at improving officer decision making skills in chronic and acute stress situations.

  • I built the U.S. Department of Justice-funded Elevate Blue Leadership, Management, and Supervision course. Led by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Elevate Blue provides best in class training for police officers.

  • I worked with FORCE Concepts to design, build, pilot, and implement 796 hours of curriculum for the Recruit Officer Course, the basic certification for municipal, university, and environmental police in Massachusetts.

  • I worked with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics to develop an emotional intelligence and personality curriculum and self-assessment tool to help officers communicate and deal with stress more effectively.

  • I worked with the Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission to develop end-of-topic and final certification exam test question banks for basic police academy training certification requirements.
